Owning the direct channel in an OTA-dominated market

Comino Land Charters runs private charters and scheduled boat tours from Cirkewwa to Comino and the Blue Lagoon. Like most operators, much of its business arrives through online travel agencies — and every one of those bookings pays a commission. The direct channel, its own website, had to earn its keep: rank in search, serve an international audience, and let visitors actually book and pay online rather than just enquire.

02 / THE SOLUTION

A conversion-first site with booking built in

We designed and built a fast marketing site around the fleet: dedicated pages for six private charter experiences — from half-day Comino trips to sunset dinner cruises — and the daily scheduled tours. Scheduled tours are bookable directly on the site with live availability and card payment through an integrated Bokun booking flow; private charters funnel into an enquiry form that arrives with the tour already attached, plus WhatsApp click-to-chat for the audience that prefers it.

The site serves an international audience with on-the-fly translation into seven languages, and ships with the SEO groundwork — sitemap, structured metadata, analytics via Google Tag Manager — to compete for direct search traffic. Day-to-day operations for the same operator now run on Buksi, our multi-channel booking back office.
